Stossel and the Randi Challenge

The UFT article is here.

Honestly, with all of the problems confronting our schools and students, I think that the UFT seriously needs to reassess their priorities.

Perhaps like this one, taken from the DOE's Hehir report (independent fact finder on students with disabilities serviced by the NYC DOE):

  • 45% of students with disabilities drop out of NYC public schools.
  • Of those that remain, a mere 28% receive a Regents or local diploma (the vast majority receiving the local).
  • The end result? Only 15% of students with disabilities, serviced by the NYC DOE, actually remain in school and graduate with a workforce-appropriate credential.

Randi? Plan on any big protests for this?
