halos for everyone

Yesterday's extended-time detention (and a loooooong lecture by me) evidently had some effect.

Each and everyone of my students, all known to arrive at school excessively late, were promptly sitting behind their desks when the first period bell rang.

They raised their hands.

They said "thank you" when I handed out pencils and handed me their "collateral" without so much as a peep.

One even asked permission to sharpen his pencil.

When my para walked into the class, and saw the boys seated and working diligently in silence, he looked at me and whispered, "What the f@ck?"

I got to enjoy two whole periods of this. Whoever gave my students temporary labotomies, I thank you.
